Missing Folders in Filesystem

I created two new Slapses:

Name1 and Name2.

In the file system all pictures are directly saved under Internal Storage/Pictures/Slapse/

And not under Internal Storage/Pictures/Slapse/Name1 and Internal Storage/Pictures/Slapse/Name2 there are no new folders created (but the precreated slaps "Daily" have a folder.)

For me it is important that on the device and in the backup the pictures for each Slapse are stored in a different folder.

Or would it be easier to rename the files?

e.g. Slapse_Name_DDMMYYY?

I would just sleep better if I knew I can still assign the files in ten years without much manual effort even without the database file ;)

The problem is, that all files would need to be renamed, if the Slapse name changes. And this might cause incompatibility with earlier backups, complicate the backup/restore functionality and probably more things. I'l think of a solution. Don't worry it will be solved. It's just not high prio right now. In the worst case, there are software tools out there, which can sort pictures by face recognition.

Hi,

thanks for your feedback.

This is not a bug but the intended behavior due to simplicity in the backup/restore functionality.

The files are referenced in the local database and are shown correctly in the app.

The "Daily" subfolder was created in a previous Slapse version and is not used anymore. You can delete it.

Please understand that I develop Slapse by myself and that other features that improve the app itself have a higher priority than optimizing the picture export.

Hello

I can understand your point.

But the reason I care is that my previous app "Photochron" was discontinued and just because there were folders for each person, it wasn't too much work to transfer all the pictures to your app.

I have used this app for years and I have no guarantee that you will not also stop developing your app in the next 5, 10 or more years.

I ask you to reconsider this.

@S3Foad Got it. I'm not planning to discontinue Slapse.

If so, I would give the users a way to export their pictures in a re-usable way.

I might introduce the separated folders in a later update again. For now it's just not the top priority.
